In May, the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce released the Talent Alignment Strategy, an initiative that aims to create the next generation of workforce needed to propel our economy forward. Leading up to and as a result of the strategy, we’ve been working to ensure education and workforce development efforts are aligned with the needs of employers and to coordinate existing initiatives currently underway throughout the region.
This year, we are excited to introduce the topic of the two-generation (2-gen) approach to education and workforce development. A 2-gen approach provides opportunities for and meet the needs of children and their parents together. This approach is defined as an objective within the strategy to support and drive the region’s renewed growth.
Our featured speaker will be Raquel T. Hatter, Managing Director of the Human Services Program at The Kresge Foundation. Raquel will be accompanied by Stephanie Davison, program officer for Human Services at the Foundation.
